I have two (young) adult children - a son and a daughter - and I was born and raised in South London. I'm the eldest of seven children from my mother and the second child (I think) of eleven or so, from my father, who was very much like my character Errol, in my debut novel, Caught In The Crossfire; absent and worthless. I was raised mostly by my maternal grandparents, who loved and cared for me the way a child deserves but family life was unsettled, chaotic and dysfunctional.
I loved school because it was an escape and because I was bright and hardworking, it was nice to receive praise.
I worked with young offenders for several years after gaining my Criminal Justice degree and as a post compulsory educator prior to the pandemic.
My favourite book genre, is psychological thriller and true crime.
Before I started writing, I was reading at least one hundred books, per year.
I consider myself a slow reader. I type even slower but my thoughts are often racing, so I'm constantly making notes for my future books. I lost a lot of those notes in 2023, because I changed and forgot the password on my phone and it wasn’t backed up. I had to wipe the phone to be able to use it again.
I'd love to write full-time.
I'd love to have my work adapted for television.
I write poetry and plan to publish my first book of poetry in 2026.
After the pandemic, I got creative, and I am now also a multi medium artist. I make home decor and accessories out of epoxy resin and I recently started creating presson nails with custom art.
I'm considering starting a podcast, that explores the sociological issues that effect the characters in my books.
I hate phone calls. There are so many alternative methods of communication that don't involve talking!
Three positive things about me: I'm open minded; I accept when I'm wrong; I look for the silver lining in every cloud.
Three negative things about me: I don't have patience; I often jump to conclusions; I still watch Eastenders.
N.B: The conclusions I jump to, are usually quite accurate.
